Scent Description

A beautiful, captivating aroma of gardenia flowers in bloom. Highlighted with hints of refreshing greens, violet, magnolias and soft musk. 

 

Top notes: Greens, White Jasmine

Middle notes: Gardenia Blooms, Violet Petals, Magnolia

Base notes: White Musk, Sandalwood

Cold Process Soap Testing Notes

Tested at 5% FO load, 12/19/22 with a recipe containing 30% lye concentration (water:lye ratio 2.300:1) with 5% superfat at 90 degrees. Recipe is 33% organic and sustainable palm oil, 33% coconut oil, 16% Canola oil, 14.9% olive oil, 3% castor oil, and 0.01% vitamin E oil. 

Acceleration: Fast

Design Notes: Recommend mixing colorants prior to adding the fragrance oil. Accelerates fast with stick blender, so consider hand stirring fragrance in. Great for layers and textures.

Amazing Fragrance, amazing cold and hot throw!!

Get it

I can’t stand florals on their own but had a specific request. So I turned to MWFC for it. It was a bit much during the process of candle making BUT after it cured it calmed down a lot and I’m quite impressed with this scent!

Not the best Gardenia

I love florals, but this gardenia has other notes that to me make it seem cloying. I really wanted to love it as fewer suppliers would make life easier… but this won’t do for me.😢

Works great for layered soaps

Because Gardenia fragrances usually are fast movers they work well for layered soaps. The difference with MidWest FC is this Gardenia FO did not rice on me like many of the others I have tried. The fragrance is a strong floral and has a gardenia like scent you would find on any gardenia FO. I'm not sure anyone can match mother nature when it comes to a true gardenia scent, so for me the fragrance just needs to be close and MWFC gardenia does just that, for me the real difference is this one does not get that grainy look the moment it is added to your oils. I have several gardenia FO that begin to clump and form small bits of soap almost the instant you add the fragrance to the oils, with MWFC gardenia I had plenty of time to add the fragrance stir it in good and then pour my layer without any issues. The fragrance has held up well during the cure. MWFC gardenia has become my go to gardenia FO after I saw just how well it worked in my three layered soap. I give this fragrance 5 Stars out of Five.
