Scent Description

Strong, bold notes of dark maple that are complemented with hints of aged bourbon, cedarwood, vanilla, and lemon.

 

Top notes: Maple, Lemon

Middle notes: Bourbon, Vanilla

Base notes: Musk, Cedar

Max use in soap: 10.20%

Recommended Usage in Wax: 1-1.5oz/lb (please look at your specific wax to see their recommendations and test)

Cold Process Soap Testing Notes

Tested at 5% FO load, 3/5/22 with a recipe containing 30% lye concentration (water:lye ratio 2.300:1) with 5% superfat at 90 degrees. Recipe is 33% organic and sustainable palm oil, 33% coconut oil, 16% Canola oil, 14.9% olive oil, 3% castor oil, and 0.01% vitamin E oil. 

 

Acceleration: None

Ricing: None

Discoloration: Dark Brown

Trace: Normal

 

Design Notes: Stays very fluid for a long time allowing for intricate designs and swirls. Discoloration may bleed into unscented/uncolored portions of soap. 

 

Scent Retention: Strong

More of a sweet maple syrup smell with a smaller hint of bourbon. Very nice!

Not good for soap making

Smells great, but I wouldn't recommend it for CP soap. There is little to no scent retention whatsoever. I used at about 7% and I get some sweetness coming through but that's it. No maple no bourbon. This would probably be great in a candle though.

I thought it was going to be a masculineish scent.

I expected the scent to be really masculine with some musk and sweetness,however it was the oposite. Don't get me wrong, it smells good, however my expectations for this scent was not met. I think mostly woman would be drawn to this scent. It smells of sweetness and vanlla with a PINCH of that Bourbon, not a whole lot. You really have to try to even get a whiff of bourbon. I did make a soap with this and the scent is not strong at 5% usage rate. i am getting just sweetness from the bar and barely any bourbon. It's not the worst scent though, but I wouldn't reccoment it.

Excellent!

This is the perfect booze candle. The booze doesn’t take over and make me nauseous and I can smell the other notes! It’s fantastic and you should buy some! I will be repurchasing soon!
