Cold Process Soap Testing Notes

Tested at 5% FO load, 1/10/24 with a recipe containing 30% lye concentration (water:lye ratio 2.300:1) with 5% superfat at 90 degrees. Recipe is 33% organic and sustainable palm oil, 33% coconut oil, 16% Canola oil, 14.9% olive oil, 3% castor oil, and 0.01% vitamin E oil.

Trace: Normal

Design Notes: Fragrance soaps very well. Batter stays fluid for a long time, allowing for plenty of working time for intricate and complex designs.

Can confirm - accelerates

Appreciate all the reviews left mentioning it accelerates in CP soap. I took steps to avoid - soaped cool (around 80*F), brought it just past emulsion, added colorants first, and hand stirred vigorously while pouring the fragrance to counter any ricing. No ricing, and had enough time to do a basic 2-color hanger swirl. Still had to move fast, but I'm happy this one won't be relegated to my "HP only" bin. The scent doesn't really give me "woodland" vibes at all - it's more like a fresh & clean men's cologne.

Smells great, but....

My bad for not reading the reviews. The smell OOB was amazing and smells great in the finished product. But the testing notes are not accurate. It accelerated and riced pretty fast. My design had to change, but I'm still happy with how the batch turned out. I'd buy it again as it's close to one I used to get from BB they discontinued.

Reminiscent of a unisex cologne / parfume

This is by far, one of my favorite fragrances from MWF Co. It reminds me of the NEST unisex parfume that's no longer sold, called White Sandalwood.
I've not used this in CP soap yet, but I will remember the comments here regarding ricing / acceleration. This may be one that needs a mostly liquid oil recipe.
I've used this in cream conditioners and lotions though and people love it.

Wow 😲

The CP testing notes need to be revised. I had severe ricing and acceleration immediately upon adding the FO. My initial plans were completely scratched and I have a ricey bloppy mess 😞 it smells good but I should have read the reviews instead of trusting the notes. So disappointed. I'm very careful only to buy FOs that don't accelerate, rice or discolor.
