Now featuring our updated formula for improved performance
Say goodbye to unpleasant odors with Midwest Fragrance Company’s newly improved Room Spray Base. Still the clean, easy-to-use formula you love—now upgraded with better solubility and a higher recommended fragrance load to give your room sprays even more impact.
Unlike standard bases that just cover up odors, this advanced formula actively neutralizes and absorbs tough smells like smoke, sweat, pet odors, and household trash. It uses naturally-derived, commercial-grade enzymes to break down unwanted odors at the source—leaving the air truly fresh.
Crafted with reverse osmosis and deionization technology, this water-based formula blends smoothly with most fragrance oils for a clear, residue-free finish. The updated version now supports a fragrance load of 7–10%, and in some cases, up to 15%—giving you more flexibility and stronger scent payoff than ever before.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I use this room spray base?
A: It’s super simple! Just add your desired fragrance oil (typically 7–10%), stir well, and let it sit for up to 24 hours to fully bind. No dilution, preservatives, or extra ingredients needed. Then pour into your preferred spray bottles—and you’re good to go! Here is a link to our step-by-step guide for more information!

Q: Why is my room spray cloudy?
A: Cloudiness usually means the fragrance load is too high for that specific fragrance oil. Try lowering the percentage until the mixture turns clear, which is an indication of full solubility.
Q: Why is my spray yellowing over time?
A: Some fragrance materials naturally oxidize, which can cause discoloration or yellowing over time. This doesn’t mean the product has gone bad—it's just a reaction to exposure to light, air, or heat. We recommend storing finished sprays in opaque or UV-safe packaging to help reduce this effect.
Q: The base smells on its own—is that normal?
A: Yes! Some of the ingredients used to create the base have their own odor characteristics which can have a light scent before fragrance is added. Once your fragrance oil is mixed in, it typically blends and fades out—but you can always let it sit for 24 hours to fully bind before use.
Q: Can I use essential oils instead of fragrance oils? A: Yes, but use caution! Essential oils are more concentrated, so we recommend starting at a lower usage rate and testing for solubility, scent strength, and stability before scaling up.
Q: Why are my floors slippery after spraying this room spray?
A: Because this formula is alcohol-free and water-based, it doesn’t evaporate as quickly as traditional alcohol-based sprays. We recommend anchoring your room spray into linens, curtains, or upholstery (after spot testing first) and avoiding heavy spraying near floors to help prevent slipping.
Q: What does VOC-free mean?
A: VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compounds—chemicals that can evaporate into the air and contribute to air pollution or health concerns. Our base is completely VOC-free, which means it
