Cold Process Soap Testing Notes

Tested at 5% FO load, 12/27/21 with a recipe containing 30% lye concentration (water:lye ratio 2.300:1) with 5% superfat at 90 degrees. Recipe is 33% organic and sustainable palm oil, 33% coconut oil, 16% Canola oil, 14.9% olive oil, 3% castor oil, and 0.01% vitamin E oil.

Acceleration: Slight

Ricing: Slight

Discoloration: None

Trace: Normal

Design Notes: Recommend mixing colorants prior to adding the fragrance oil. This fragrance accelerates slightly but still allows for drop swirl pour. Recommend to work fast because soap sets quickly once in the mold. Great for layers and textures.

Scent Retention: Strong

Strong Scent

I'm glad I read the CP testing notes and the reviews before making my soap because this fragrance does rice and accelerate as described. The ricing blended out easily for the most part, however I nearly wound up with soap on a stick with the 1st layer of a 5 layered soap (worked at emulsion with the following layers and had better luck). The soap also heated up quite a bit and started gelling almost immediately once in the mold. The scent is strong even at the 3.6% that I used, and I still haven't decided if I really like it. Hopefully it will calm down and soften up a bit as it cures. As we know, fragrances are very subjective, so I will say this is a clean oceanic scent, so if that is what you're into, this would be a great scent for you.

smells great but work fast

I really love the scent of this, I don't even know how to describe it. I am prone to migraines triggered by scent and this doesn't give me one. I used this in CP soap and all I can say is work fast and don't mix a lot. Save your mixing for when you add this FO in because it will rice and your batter will accelerate crazy fast. I used this with three mica colors and the bottom layer was set before I even added my FO to my other two colors. Other than that it smells great and the retention in CP soap is great so far.

A keeper for sure

I love this fragrance and it is a best seller in everything I put it in. I have used it in Candles, Wax Melts, Body Butter, Lotion & CP Soap, scrubs just to name a few. In CP Soap it does rice slightly & does accelerate trace slightly but it does not matter because it is so amazing. In my permanent line forever!

The best coastal scent

I have issues with coastal/sea/lake fragrances. Coastal Waters is hands down the first and only coastal scent I haven’t had anything bad to say about.

Wonderful scent!

This is a huge hit in my candles and incense. It’s such light and fresh scent that delivers such a beautiful blend. It’s also great for blending with other scents.
