Cold Process Soap Testing Notes

Tested at 5% FO load, 4/30/22 with a recipe containing 30% lye concentration (water:lye ratio 2.300:1) with 5% superfat at 90 degrees. Recipe is 33% organic and sustainable palm oil, 33% coconut oil, 16% Canola oil, 14.9% olive oil, 3% castor oil, and 0.01% vitamin E oil.

Acceleration: None-Slight

Ricing: Very Slight

Discoloration: None

Trace: Normal

Design Notes: Slight ricing may occur upon adding in the fragrance, but was easily stick blended out. This requirement leaves the batter at a medium trace, but no further acceleration was noted, leaving enough time for some design work such as drop swirls or hanger swirls.

Scent Retention: Strong

smells good, but get ready to work FAST and COOL in CP soap!

I've now used this FO twice in CP soap. First time, I soaped at 100 degrees. It accelerated quickly, but did not rice - I was able to do textured layers. Second time, I soaped at 107 degrees and it riced - had to blend it out which made it thick pretty quickly. Was able to pull off some angled layers, so all was not lost! It had great scent retention for me at 5% fully cured and beyond, and my husband loves it. It's definitely one where you need to separate out your colors and mix colors first, then FO at the very last minute.

Has a great smell! Will purchase again.

This is a good masculine scent. My husband loves it. Will be purchasing again.

I didn't order enough

As a new candle maker I've had so many requests for a "man scent." This is the first one I tried, I think it smells incredible, it is a fan favorite with my customers.
