Cold Process Soap Testing Notes

Tested at 5% FO load, 2/11/22 with a recipe containing 30% lye concentration (water:lye ratio 2.300:1) with 5% superfat at 90 degrees. Recipe is 33% organic and sustainable palm oil, 33% coconut oil, 16% Canola oil, 14.9% olive oil, 3% castor oil, and 0.01% vitamin E oil.

Acceleration: Slight

Ricing: None

Discoloration: Light Tan

Trace: Normal

Design Notes: Despite some minor acceleration, the fragrance stays fluid long enough to allow for swirl designs. Great for layered designs as well.

Scent Retention: Very Strong

Works well with CO soap

Made a test batch of 6 bars to see how well it soaps and discolors. It smells really good. Worked well in the soap with plenty of time to swirl colors. Looks like it will change to tan as it cures, even with a little white mica in the batter.

As usual I sit on my oils for some time before getting into them. I am always busy with family and a part time job. BUT I got into it this evening and OMG I am in love with the FO. I tried some snap bars first. This scent is really lovely, woodsy and unique. The ct and ht are next level. I am going to put it into lotions and some beard oil next.
