I’ve been making cold process soap for 30 years

I’ve been making cold process soap for 30 years and have tried A LOT of patchouli fragrance oils. Most of them fade considerably by the 4-6 week mark. This one does not. I love it and keep increasing my bottle size when I order because obviously my customers love it as well. Thank you Midwest Fragrance!

Patchouli

Its amazing how many different variations you find for the same fragrance over different companies. This version of patuli is good. Not overpowering...actually subdued to a certain extent. Not as earthy as others but still screams "look at me, I'm PATCHOULI". Nice job MWF!

This is a definite for me

This is a definite for me. I'm making a wickless candle with this fragrant oil for a friend. She smelled the fragrance and agrees, It's definitely Patchouli. It is on the softer side of the woodsy , earthy but clean scent all at once. It melts very nice. Smells light to medium. I'm in a room that's about 11x17. It does fill up the room. I have no complaints. This is a really nice fragrance. I highly recommend. I'll be getting more of this but probably toward the fall season.

My favorite patchouli

I used to hate patchouli. This one doesn’t have that bite that straight EO has. It’s so smooth. A best seller in my soaps! And an amazing blender!

A Balanced Fragrance

I’ll be the first to say if it was asked for I would have never purchased it!
My Dad “bathed” in a Patchouli oil and though I loved him that smell lingered on you and not in a good way.

So, I had my reservations purchasing this fragrance.
It has the patchouli scent but, it isn’t harsh it is nicely balanced with sweet undertones that complement the main earthy scent.
Again, it is a top tier seller for me year after year!

Patchouli or not Patchouli...but, I love it

I have never smelt patchouli before, so I can't compare but, it does make an amazing blender and I love it!

Patchouli

I can never good wrong with Midwest Fragrances! I never purchased Patchouli, but wanted to try it in a blend. It gives a soft, lite floral, musk smell. It’s a combination for my new scent blend.

I do like this fragrance but not the patchouli I'm used to.

J

Different than what I’m used to smelling with patchouli. It’s interesting how much it changes once it’s in “liquid” form.

My mom hates patchouli but loves this. Does smell like patchouli.

Nice

This is a nice straight forward fragrance. Not so much Patchouli, and more like herbs from the kitchen, but still nice

Michelle

Always fast shipping and great products.

Not really Patchouli, but nice.

This isn't really a "true" patchouli scent. More like an interpretation that's more pleasing to people that don't like that strong earthy real patchouli essential oil. I used it in a balm, and described it as a light earthy scent. Anyone looking for "true" patchouli will be disappointed, and describing it as patchouli without being able to smell it will turn people away who know they don't like the real deal.

Don't get me wrong, this really is a nice warm, earthy scent that's light and gender neutral. Great for body products. But I was cautious not to use the original name.

Great to work with in CP soap

Keeps its cool in CP soap. Lots of time to work with colors and design. One of my top sellers in scent.

Weak

This fragrance i was hoping would be strong but it is very week. After I sniffed the bottle it didn't hit my nose like most FO do. So I made a small 4oz candle and with it, cured for a week and it was what I was concerned not much cold or hot throw. I'll just throw it away.

Now that I’ve used it….BEAUTIFUL!

I bought this FO because I love Patchouli. I was very disappointed once I smelled it….I my opinion it does not smell like patchouli at all as many others have also said. So it sat for a while. 2 days ago I used it in cold process soap. It still doesn’t smell like patchouli but let me say it smells beautiful! I keep going upstairs to smell it! It’s a beautiful rich floral of sorts.:)

Sweet and plesant

Smelled very strong OOB. No problem in CP soap, used it at a rate of 6% of my oils. Does not smell exactly like Patchouli, however, It is a nice fragrance and could be considered unisex. Decided to call this “Earthy Blend”. Happy to report is sell’s like crazy and both Men and Women love it! Smells great on its own, or mixed with some orange FO.

Using our fragrance oils is super simple, and we’re here to guide you! For candles, we recommend adding your fragrance to the melted wax when it’s at the correct temperature (usually around 185°F, but check your wax’s specs). Mix well, pour, and let the magic happen. For soap-making, our oils are perfect for melt-and-pour, cold process, or hot process soaps. Always follow recommended usage rates and do a small test batch to ensure everything works beautifully. Need more tips? Check out our resources—we love helping makers like you!

The recommended fragrance load can vary depending on your project, but here’s a good starting point: for candles, we suggest 6–10% of your total wax weight, depending on your wax type and personal preference. For soaps, always checkIFRA usage rates to ensure your oils are skin-safe and used at the right level. When in doubt, start small and adjust until you find your perfect balance!
