Cold Process Soap Testing Notes

Tested at 5% FO load, 06/01/24 with a recipe containing 30% lye concentration (water: lye ratio 2.300:1) with 5% superfat at 90 degrees. Recipe is 33% organic and sustainable palm oil, 33% coconut oil, 16% Canola oil, 14.9% olive oil, 3% castor oil, and 0.01% vitamin E oil.

Acceleration: Slight

Ricing: None

Discoloration: Tan

Trace: Normal

Design Notes: Some minor acceleration was noted so consider hand stirring fragrance in rather than stick blending. Recommended to mix colorants prior to adding the fragrance oil. It sets up quite fast in the mold. Great for layers and textures.

Scent Retention: Moderate

Disclaimer: Test results are intended to be used as a guideline. Results may vary based on individual recipes.

Nostalgic Christmas

I was on the hunt for a nostalgic Christmas fragrance that would take me back to childhood. This is IT. OOB it is fruit forward, but blended with wax the complexity of Juniper, pepper, and spice stand out beautifully. I'm so excited to offer this to my customers for Christmas!

Separated my CP soap batter

I used 16oz olive oil, 16oz coconut oil, 16oz palm oil, 3 oz castor, 15 oz distilled water and 7.5 oz lye. I used 2.5 oz of this fragrance and my batch completely separated. First time this has ever happened to me. It’s a great smell but obviously not going to work me in my cold process soap

Fruity but sophisticated

Fruit forward, reminiscent of a mulled cider. There is a hint of pine from the juniper and sage notes. Like standing next to a Christmas tree with a glass of mulled cider in your hand.
