How To Use MWFC Liquid Soap Dyes

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

  • Shake well before each use.
  • These are highly concentrated - start with less and build gradually.
  • Always test your color in a small batch before scaling up.
  • Wear gloves and protect your workspace (these are strong dyes!).

SUPPLIES YOU'LL NEED

  • MWFC Liquid Soap Dye(s)
  • Water-based personal care product (e.g., foaming hand soap, body mist, lotion, etc.)
  • Pipette or dropped (the built-in dropper works great!).
  • Mixing utensil or stick blender (optional, but helpful!).
  • Gloves, paper towels, and test containers

USAGE RATES (by shade intensity)

Shade % Usage Drops Per Pound (approx.)
Pale Pastels ≤ 0.01% 0.5–1 drops per pound
Medium Shades 0.05%–0.1% 2–6 drops per pound
Deep & Bold Up to 0.3% 7–12+ drops per pound

Note: Usage may vary depending on base characteristics (clear vs colored, opacity, etc.), color chosen, and desired shade.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prepare your base

Start with your pre-measured water-based product - this could be anything from lotion to liquid soap.

*NOTE: You can add your FO first or afterwards!

2. Add dye

Determine your desired shade and begin adding drops and stir gradually. Increase gradually until you reach the desired color.

3. Mix well

These dyes dissolve easily. Gentle stirring is usually enough - no heavy blending needed. Stir gradually until evenly incorporated.

4. Test

Dispense a small amount onto your hand or a white dish to check for streaking, settling, or staining. Adjust as needed.

5. Adjust or Blend

Want a custom shade? Try blending two or more dyes to create your own signature color.

6. Label & Store

Once you're happy with your color, label your finished batch clearly and store dyes at room temperature (65-70°F), away from heat and sunlight.

DO NOT:

  • Exceed the recommended usage rates (can cause staining).
  • Use in products with oil-heavy bases - these are water-soluble and work best in water-based formulas.

TIPS:

  • ALWAYS test your own products yourself before selling!
  • A little goes a long way - these dyes are concentrated!
  • Colors may appear different in clear vs. opaque bases.
  • Match your dye choices to your brand or the season (e.g., Sunburst Yellow for summer, Jet Black for Halloween).
