Creative Ways to Use Liquid Soap Dyes: Inspiration Guide

1. Foaming Hand Soap
Why it works: Clear foaming bases make colors show up beautifully.
Tips: Start with less and build up to avoid over-coloring. Color in bottle will look MUCH darker than when it foams out!
2. Lotions
Why it works: Even though lotions are opaque, these dyes give a soft, even tint.
Tips: Great for matching the vibe of your fragrance - like lavender with a purple pastel.
3. Bath Bombs
Why it works: Many of our liquid soap dyes are FDA-supported for cosmetic use and can be used in bath bombs. Be sure to read our blog post here for additional bath bomb colorant information.
Tips: Add the dye to your liquid phase and mix throughly for an even tone. Use a small amount and always test to avoid staining. We recommend adding Polysorbate 80 to help disperse the color. Note: Orange Oasis Liquid Soap Dye is not recommended for bath bomb use. Read more here.
4. Sugar Scrubs or Body Polishes
Why it works: Water-based scrubs like Stephenson Crystal OPC are perfect for liquid soap dyes - they show off color beautifully.
Tips: Use clear containers to show off layered or seasonal color stories.
5. Shampoos & Conditioners
Why it works: Syndopour and Stephenson Conditioner bases take color really well. Also works in liquid shampoos or conditioners!
Tips: Opaque bases = soft tinted color, clear bases = bolder color tones. Be careful when adding dye - too much can stain! Recommended SMALL amount + always testing!
6. Body Sprays & Mists
Why it works: Great for adding subtle tint to your clear fragrance sprays.
Tips: Keep it lighter so it doesn't stain clothing or packaging. Be careful when adding dye - too much can stain! Recommended SMALL amount + always testing!
7. Glycerin Soap Bars (Melt & Pour)
Why it works: These dyes mix in beautifully with no clumping or cloudiness.
Tips: Clear bases give you vivid colors, while white bases create soft, dreamy pastels.
