Discontinued Fragrance Blend Recipes | Replacements Ideas
Hey, friends! It’s Kenna here, coming to you with a big virtual hug and some assistance. As you've likely heard, we’re retiring 19 of our fragrance oils here at Midwest Fragrance Company (you can read all about it here). I know—it’s tough to say goodbye to a fragrance you’ve grown to love, and as a fellow maker (and fragrance hoarder—let’s be real), I totally get it.
But you know me, I’m all about helping you make beautiful products without missing a beat. So today, I want to do what we always try to do: give you solutions. For each of the retiring fragrances, we've come up with either blend suggestions you can use to recreate them or comparable products in our line that could serve as great alternatives. While these won't be identical to the retired fragrances, our goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible for you because we’re all in this together!
So let’s make sure you’re set up with some fantastic options to keep your product line consistent and your customers happy!

Tips for Transitioning Your Product Line
Switching up your fragrance lineup might feel like a challenge, but it’s also an opportunity to get creative and try something new! Here are a few tips to help you through this process:
- Test Small Batches: Before committing to a new blend or alternative, make a small test batch to see how it works in your specific product.
- Communicate with Your Customers: Let your customers know about the changes and why they’re happening. Most people will appreciate your transparency, especially when you share your excitement about the new options you’re introducing!
- Update Your Branding: If you’re swapping out fragrances, this could be a great time to refresh your product names, labels, or descriptions. A new fragrance lineup can be the perfect excuse to give your brand a little glow-up.
- Ask for Feedback: Your customers are your best resource. If you’re unsure which alternatives to offer, ask them what they’d love to see!
