How To Successfully Sell Your All Purpose Cleaner + Mop Soap

apc mop soap

If you recently purchased our All Purpose Cleaner / Mop Soap Concentrated Base and you're not sure how to market the products you've made with this...look no further, we've got you!

THIS is the part most makers struggle with. Not making the product, but understanding how to actually POSITION it, MARKET it, and SELL it successfully.

And home cleaning products have HUGE potential for you right now. These aren’t just “fun extra” products people buy once as a treat for themselves.

These are products that customers use constantly, repurchase regularly, and integrate into their routines and lives.

The good news is, if you already sell candles, wax melts, room sprays, reed diffusers, soaps, or home fragrance products… this category fits NATURALLY into your existing brand!

This is a great way to add another stream of revenue to your business that is really easy and trending for makers!

Let's get into how to sell all purpose cleaners and mop soaps!

If I Were Launching This Product as a Maker, Here’s Exactly What I’d Do

Honestly? I would NOT overcomplicate this. I would start SIMPLE.

1. Start With Your BEST-Selling Scents

I would choose 3–5 scents that already perform really well for my business, especially scents that naturally make sense for home cleaning products. Think:

  • fresh + clean scents
  • citrus scents
  • spa + herbal scents
  • linen scents
  • cozy home scents
  • luxury + hotel-inspired scents

Your customers already know and love these fragrances, which makes introducing a new product category feel WAY less intimidating.

Instead of: “Here’s an entirely new thing.”

It becomes: “Oh wait… now I can get this scent in a cleaner too?!” and that makes a bigger impact on sales than you'd think!

2. Send Samples to Your Best Customers FIRST

I’d send samples to: loyal customers, VIP customers, influencers/brand reps, and/or wholesale accounts.

And I’d make it feel exclusive, too! Something like: “shh… something new is coming and I wanted you to be one of the first to try it!”

This helps build up hype before you launch, gather feedback and testimonials from your real target audience, generate word-of-mouth marketing (THE best!), and also- it makes your customers feel involved!

3. I Would Attach This Product to an Existing Launch

You totally could launch these products on their own but if it were me, I would consider co-launching it into a collection I already had planned!

For example:

If I were launching a summer collection? ADDING THIS PRODUCT WITH LAUNCH WOULD ABSOLUTELY SLAP THIS TIME OF YEAR!

Summer naturally aligns with:

  • fresh starts
  • resetting spaces
  • organizing
  • bright/fresh scents
  • cleaning
  • refreshing the home

My advice: absolutely use this time to SELL your home cleaning products!

The BEST Way to Position This Product

This isn’t just: “here’s a cleaner.” You want your customers to feel like it's so much more than that- because, well, it is!

These products can become a Sunday reset routine, it can make cleaning feel enjoyable, and turn every tasks into experiences- plus? The house smells AMAZING!

AND even better, these aren’t just “treat yourself” products…they’re products customers will ACTUALLY use every single day.

That’s huge. Because now your products become part of everyday routines in your customer's life, which means...repurchase after repurchase!

Make your customers imagine this: doing their weekly reset, cleaning counters, mopping floors, everything is just right... then they light your candle to really get that clean house experience once they're done.

Now, take that feeling and market it that way to your customers!

One of the EASIEST Ways to Sell This? Bundle It.

If you really want to sell customers on your new products, I suggest creating a bundle.

Not only can you sell more products in a bundle, but it also helps naturally sell the experience!

With a bundle labeled like our examples below, customers can visualize themselves incorporating the products into their routine and understand how to use the products together. Plus...more products sold! Win win!

Using the same scent or scents that compliment each other, here are some bundle ideas you could create as examples:

Content Ideas That Will Actually Help Sell These Products

The more you show these products in action, the easier they become to sell because your customers will be able to really imagine experiencing them!

Some easy content ideas to really show off your products IN ACTION:

  • “clean with me” reels (featuring your products)
  • Sunday reset videos (great way to sell the kit idea from above + use all of these products!)
  • countertop wipe-downs
  • cleaning routine videos
  • restocking cleaning products
  • pairing your cleaner with the matching candle or soap
  • before/after cleaning transformations (from using your products!)

Product Pricing + Selling The Experience

One thing I want to encourage you to remember when you are considering pricing: you are NOT trying to compete with mass-produced grocery store cleaners.

Your products are handmade, high quality, sell an experience, and also- smell better than anything else on the big box shelves!

Those details create a completely different customer experience, which is worth every penny.

Plus- making the All Purpose Cleaner with this base because means diluting it with distilled water, which is a very cost-effective and profitable product for makers!

Let's break it down:

For all purpose cleaners, you will want to use 95% distilled water and 5% All Purpose Cleaner / Mop Soap Base Concentrate (scented, of course!) In the scented concentrate, we recommend using a 1-2% fragrance oil load.

Most gallons of distilled water are, at most, $2 per gallon. Our base is $10.99 for a 16 oz bottle. (bulk options are slightly discounted, but we are sticking to the simple numbers here!)

This means, doing maker math...to make 8 oz of ready-to-use all purpose cleaner spray (not including the cost of fragrance oil, which varies, and its a very little amount!) would cost approximately $0.27 cents for the base and $0.12 for the distilled water.

Besides the fragrance oil and product packaging, that's around $0.39 cents to create an all purpose cleaner!

Most makers on platforms like Etsy are selling their all purpose cleaners at prices between $8 and $14. That is a LOT of room for profit for you as a seller!

Final Thoughts

The products you can make with our All Purpose Cleaner/Mop Soap Concentrated Base have HUGE potential for makers and your sales!

These products combine everyday functionality, repeat purchases, and an amazing scent experience- what more could you ask for?

And the best part: you do NOT need to completely shift your business to fit these new products into your line.

Start simple. Pick a few proven scents. Create a small collection. Focus on the experience. Show the products in action. And build from there!

We seriously cannot wait to see what you create!

Happy making!
